The sponsor of Umunna Nsulu Unity Cup, Chief Eric Opah has described the football competition as a good step in the right direction in uniting the 8 communities that made up the zone.
Chief Eric Opah who is also the CEO of Fortune Global Shipping and Logistics limited, made this above description during the grand finale of the Umunna-Nsulu unity held at Umuosu Primary school field.
The final match which was watched by mammoth crowd saw Umuosu beat Ubaha 1-0 to emerge as the champion.
Other highlights of the event were the 3rd place match which featured Umuode and Umuogu with Umuode edging Umuogu 4-2 on penalties.
The champion went home with the sum of 1,000,000 naira, the runner-up 500,000 naira, the third-place team got 300,000 naira and 50,000 naira to the other teams for their participation.
The highest goal scorer went home with the sum of 15,000 and a golden boot, the best goalkeeper went home with 15,000 naira and a golden glove, while the most valuable player of the tournament went home with 15,000 naira and a golden ball.
The sponsor of the tournament Chief Opah promised that the winner of the next edition of the tournament will go home with 2,000,000.
