Haaland Reminds Me Of Messi’ Glory Days At Barcelona- Guardiola
Manchester City head coach, Pep Guardiola has expressed his delight in the insatiable hunger of Erling Haaland to keep scoring.
Erling Haaland who scored two goals in their 2-0 win against West Ham in his Premier League debut on Sunday was said to be unhappy as he wanted to score a hat-trick.
Reacting, Guardiola described the 22-year-old’s desire to keep scoring as akin to Messi glory days at Barcelona when he was his coach.
“That’s good, I like it,”Guardiola said in his post-match press conference.
“I was fortunate as a manager to be with Messi and when he scored two, he wanted three, and when scored three, he wants four.
“The top goal scorers are never satisfied, they are always hungry and starving and want more”
The Norway International had come under serious criticism after his performance against City’s defeat against Liverpool in the Community Shield gave a remarkable performance against West Ham to silence critics.
Guardiola added: “I know how he handled a lot of criticism this week. He was calm, he trained and really well but the way he took the ball for the penalty, I said ‘I like it’.
