The impeached Deputy Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Uchendu, has revealed that he has not been paid his security vote for over 9 months and also accused the speaker of the 10th House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji of being behind the impeachment plot he survived  in 2022.

According to Honourable Uchendu, the impeachment incident that occurred on February 22, 2022 was a script written by Honourable Chinedum Orji and played out by some members of the House whom the speaker allegedly sponsored.

Uchendu stated that the Speaker allegedly sponsored the failed impeachment because he felt he (Uchendu) was not loyal enough to him but to others.

“last time they wanted to impeach me, it was a drama from Mr Speaker (Chinedum Orji). He sponsored members to impeach me but when he was about to impeach me, he turned to play a fast one. He sponsored some of the elites to go and plot to impeach me” Uchendu claimed.

Asked the reason, Uchendu continued;

“He (Orji) said I had a relationship with someone that is not his person; that I am loyal to someone else than him.”

Asked who the Speaker claimed that he was more loyal to; Uchendu, though he was not specific, mentioned “government officials and other institutions of the administration”.

“He thought I was not loyal to him. I have been close to him, i’ve swallowed so many things so that peace will reign.

“I am not the engineer of this impeachment; the members said ‘we want this man out’ and they had the majority” Hon. Uchendu said during an interview with Family Love FM, monitored by ALL FACTS NEWSPAPER on Wednesday, May 3.

Uchendu also revealed that he has not received his security vote for 9 months adding that Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji failed to observe the constitutional 180 days plenary sittings.

He maintained that Honourable Chukwudi Apugo representing Umuahia East, is the new speaker of the House, adding that any activity Chinedum Orji is carrying out in same capacity, is illegal.

Reacting to a viral video of he and Orji, Uchendu said;

“The video of me with him was on our happy day, we were happy, and jubilating, the next day he changed.”

Recall that Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Uchendu was impeached as deputy speaker and was replaced by Rt. Hon. Mandela Obasi yesterday during a plenary resided over by Rt. Hon. Engr. Chinedum Orji as Speaker.
