Chikwe Udensi Reacts To Otti’s Invitation Of Julius Berger To Aba, Makes Revelation About Faulks Road
The Abia State governor elect, Dr Alex Otti, has been commended by Sir Chikwe Udensi, a chieftain of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) for inviting a construction giant, Julius Berger, for an on-spot assessment of the abandoned Port Harcourt road, Aba.
Udensi who stated this during a live programme on Family Love FM in Umuahia, noted that due to the peculiar topography of the state, the likes of Julius Berger and Setraco construction companies are the kind of quality, needed to construct durable roads in Abia State.
He stated that those attacking Otti for inviting Julius Berger before his inauguration, are people that has something to hide and are trying to cover their tracks.
“I commend Alex Otti for using Julius Berger. This is a step in the right direction.
“Julius Berger and the kinds of Setraco are the quality people that ought to do the roads in Abia state because Abia has a peculiar topography.
“What Otti is doing is right. Those saying that what he is doing is wrong, are those who are afraid and have something to hide” Udensi said in an interview on Love FM Umuahia monitored by ALL FACTS NEWSPAPER on Wednesday.
Udensi stated that past and incumbent governments have disappointed Abians with their choice of road contractors handling projects in the state.
He said the poor quality of roads in the state is owed to the quality of contractors engaged for the job.
“I am happy Alex Otti is using the likes of Julius Berger because they are the people that understands the volume and quality of job that ought to be done” Udensi added.
He expressed confidence that Otti is capable to do the right things in the state as he has no record of irregularity.
“Alex Otti is not known with any form of irregularity. He has the capacity to do what is right and would do the right thing when it’s time for awarding contracts” Udensi added.
On the issue of Faulks Road, the INTERPOL expert revealed that when he saw SETRACO sign during the construction of Faulks road he was happy. The happiness made him to call his friend who works in SETRACO to congratulate him and urge them to do a great job in Abia State.
But that he was surprised when his friend revealed that SETRACO is not involved in the job and that the companies sign was dubious displayed on the project site and equipment’s being used.
