Dr. Ngozi Okoronkwo has resigned as the Commissioner for Health in Abia State. Governor Alex Chioma Otti accepted her resignation, expressing gratitude for her contributions to the state’s health sector. The Governor reaffirmed his commitment to transforming Abia State and fulfilling his promises to the people.

 

Umuahia, Abia State – The suspended Commissioner for Health in Abia State, Dr. Ngozi Okoronkwo, has officially resigned from her position. Dr. Ngozi Okoronkwo tendered her resignation letter to the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, marking the end of her tenure in the state’s health ministry.

 

Governor Otti, in a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Ctz. Ukoha Njoku Ukoha, confirmed the acceptance of Dr. Okoronkwo’s resignation. The Governor expressed gratitude for her service and acknowledged her contributions to the state’s health sector over the past year.

 

“We appreciate Dr. Okoronkwo’s commitment and modest achievements in repositioning the health sector for better service delivery,” Governor Otti stated. “We wish her well in her future endeavors.”

 

Dr. Ngozi Okoronkwo’s tenure was noted for several key initiatives aimed at improving healthcare services in Abia State. Under her leadership, the health sector saw advancements in medical infrastructure, enhanced healthcare delivery systems, and increased accessibility to medical services for the residents.

 

Governor Otti reiterated his administration’s dedication to transforming Abia State and delivering on the promises made to the people. He emphasized that the mandate given to him by Abians includes the authority to assemble and reorganize his team as necessary to ensure effective governance.

 

“The people of Abia State have entrusted me with the responsibility to hire, suspend, or reshuffle my appointees to achieve our developmental goals,” Governor Otti said. “This process is vital for maintaining the momentum of our transformation agenda and ensuring that we meet the expectations of our citizens.”

 

Dr. Okoronkwo’s resignation comes at a crucial time as the state government continues to implement its strategic plans for health sector improvement. The administration remains committed to finding a suitable replacement who will build on the foundation laid by Dr. Ngozi Okoronkwo and drive further progress in the health ministry.
