ABIA: Philanthropist, Okwun Ojah Hands Over Water Borehole To Another Ohafia Community
A renowned Abia born philanthropist based in Australia, Chief Dr. Okwun Ojah (Ogba Mkpu Ohafia), has completed and handed over a water borehole to the people of Amoba, Amaekpu Ohafia community in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State.
The water project which was constructed under the Ojah Family Foundation Rural Water Borehole Intervention Project, was handed over to the community on May 11, 2023 in a grand ceremony graced by elated community members, traditional rulers, among others.
Addressing the people, Okwun Ojah who was represented by Mr Jonah Okoro, the manager of Ojah Family Foundation, harped on the need for people to have access to quality water to ensure an improved health condition and remedy the rampant cases of diseases got by the intake of dirty water.
Ojah assured the people that he will continue to prioritize their interest and attract projects that will bring development to Ohafia and the state at large.
Okoro on behalf of the benefactor, handed over a power generating set to Rev. Dr. Onyema Agbai, the Caretaker Committee Chairman, Amaekpu development union who subsequently handed over the key to HRH Ezieogo Obuba Uduma.
In his appreciation speech, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Amaekpu development union, Rev. Dr. Onyema Agbai, prayed that God will bless Ojah with long life and good health as he equally requested God to further bless Amaekpu community with more sons of the soil who will have the heart of Dr. Okwun Ojah.
Appreciating Okwun Ojah for his kind gesture, members of the Amoba Community presented a live goat, a traditional tiger hat (Okpu agu), and a piece of George wrapper to him.
Ojah was also conferred with the title “Mma Oha (the people’s good) at the event.
This will make it the sixth (6) borehole project the Philanthropist Okwun Ojah has constructed for the people of Ohafia LGA and Isuikwuato LGA all in Abia State.
