UNILORIN Approves Paternity Leave For Male Workers | READ DETAILS

Two weeks paternity leave, have been approved for male staff members of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN).

Speaking to journalists on Monday, the varsity’s Registrar, Mr Mansur Alfanla, said the paternity leave approval followed the just amended Conditions of Service of UNILORIN as part of the ways to improve it’s working conditions.

”Paternity leave is for serving male officers whose spouse delivers a baby. The period of the leave shall be 14 working days.

“Where the family of a male officer adopts a child under four months old, the officer will similarly enjoy paternity leave for a period of 14 working days,” Alfanla said.

There have been clamor in the country for male workers to enjoy paternity leave to help their wives and bond with their new babies.
