DRUG SCANDAL: Court Makes Fresh Decision On Abba Kyari | READ DETAILS
A Federal High Court in Abuja, on Monday, refused to grant the bail application filed by the suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP Abba Kyari.
Justice Inyang Ekwo, in a ruling, refused to grant application citing that an order of a sister court had taken precedence and have granted the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency’s (NDLEA) request to detain Kyari for another 14 days to enable it to conclude its investigation.
He stated that the sister court, which gave the order in favour of the NDLEA on February 22, was well within its right to do so. READ HERE
However, he will be inclined to hear Kyari’s fundamental enforcement rights suit with the urgency it deserves after the expiration of the 14-day court order, Ekwo ruled.
He adjourned the suit until March 15 to hear Kyari’s application to demand for his fundamental right enforcement.
