Allow Muslims Complete 14-Years In Presidency As Christians – Dogara

A former speaker of the House Representatives, Yakubu Dogara has said that muslims should be allowed to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari for 4 years, to complete 14 years in the presidency just as their christian counterparts has done.

Dogara noted that the south had produced, former presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan who are all christians, while the north produced Umaru Musa Yar’adua and Muhammadu Buhari. Obasanjo ruled for 8 years while Jonathan ruled for 6 years summing it to 14 years for the south. Yar’adua ruled for 2 years and Buhari, 8 years which is a total of 10-years.

He argued that with the arithmetics, muslims should be allowed to rule for 4 years after Buhari to have a balance.

Dogara who spoke in Zonkwa, Kaduna State, said:

“And if we must say the truth, Jonathan is a Christian, Obasanjo is a Christian; Obasanjo ruled for eight years, and Jonathan ruled for six years.

“So, if we sum the two together, we, I said we, because I am a Christian, we have ruled this country for 14 years. Buhari has ruled for eight years and Yar’Adua ruled for two years, making a total of 10 years.

“So, we can only be just by allowing the Muslims have a balance of four years. Also, the two Christian Presidents are from the South, so the North has a balance of four years.”
