A 40-year-old mason and Labourer, identified as Lekan Sunday, has been arrested for allegedly threatening and ra-ping a prophetess in a church, Orioke Aanu Oluwa Gbohunmi, in the Ilogbo Adu area of Kemta in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Sunday was arrested on Monday, October 16 by the state police command after he allegedly committed the crime last week Thursday.
The suspect allegedly invaded the church wielding a knife and met the prophetess sleeping. He allegedly threatened to ki-ll her if she refuses to yield to his urge.
Calls for help and pleas made by the victim to neighbours and the suspect, proved abortive as he forcefully had his way.
The police launched a manhunt for Sunday after the victim reported the incident.
According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, on Tuesday, preliminary investigation into the matter.
