Why Amaechi, Nwajiuba Have No Conscience- Wike
Amid the heated buildup to the highly anticipated 2023 elections, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has hit out on fellow Presidential hopefuls, Rotimi Amaechi and Emeka Nwajiuba.
Launching an onslaught on the duo, the lawyer cum politician declared the immediate past Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, and Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba ”have no conscience” for seeking to be president when there are issues ravaging their designated ministries.
While Amaechi’s Ministry of Transportation has been rocked with a spate of insecurity centred attacks over the past months, Nwajiuba’s Education Ministry has left the educational system in deadlock with schools closed for months.
Both politicians have since resigned their positions to vye for the coveted top flight seat following President Buhari’s directive.
Rivers State’s figurehead stated this at a political gathering in Oyo state on Tuesday, May 24.
“Nigerians know my views. I believe in restructuring. I believe in state police. You cannot stop insecurity in this country without state police which is the practice in all countries that run true federalism. Intelligence is key. Before it happens you’ve stopped it or cage them.
Look at it, 42 people died in train blast, up until now no concrete report. This is a country where a Minister of Transport, after people died in such accident and the next day, he went and collected forms for presidency.
You’re a Minister of Education, schools have closed for how many months, the next thing; the minister went and collected form for presidency. I have not seen a country like this, no conscience.”
