PAINFUL: MOTHER OF AFARAUKWU SLAIN YOUTH CRIES OUT TO POLICE: PRODUCE MY SON ALIVE

The widow and mother of the slain Afaraukwu youth, Chukwubuike Onuoha, Madam Onyinyechi Grace Onuoha has cried out to Nigeria police to produce her aon alive.

The grieving Madam Onuoha (50 years) told TtRN in Umuahia that since the son was killed by the police officer, Serg. Collins Apugo she has been denied access by the police and hospital authority to see the corpse.

Madam Onuoha who is a cleaner in Government House, Umuahia and an Apostolic by faith said she had no premonition that such a fate will befall the family, added that she was told she had fainted and was resuscitated by her fellow women.

She added “my son did not do anything to deserve death. What did my son do to him? My son is not in secret society.

“Heaven will demand the life of my son from him”.

Madam Onuoha also called on Abia State Government to prevail on the police to produce her son alive “as he left home and told me he was coming back.

“He went out through the backyard and never touched the tarred road”.

Meanwhile, a community source told Punch in Umuahia that the community will be meeting today to discuss and meet the police over the issue.

The traditional ruler of Okwulaga Autonomous Community of  Afaraukwu, HRM Eze Edward Ibeabuchi had earlier described the incident as unfortunate, especially as there was no record of provocation and sued for peace.

He called on the police to expedite action in their investigation.

Meanwhile, in a press release emanating from the state command of the police, the police announced that the murder weapon has been recovered at the police officer’s country home, Uturu in Isuikwuato LGA of the state.

According to the release, a reward of N5000.00 has been offered for any information leading to the arrest of the police officer who is still on the run.
