It is The Turn Of South East Igbos To Produce The President of Nigeria – Sen. Emma Nwaka

Ex- state chairman of the People’s Democratic Party PDP Abia State, Sen. Emma Nwaka has giving more explanation to the words credited to Sen. Anyim Pius while delivering a presentation at the just concluded World Igbo submit at the Gregory University Uturu.

Sen. Anyim Pius had while presenting ” Who are the real Igbo” hinted on People from South East being the people whom he is referring to . But while reacting to the presentation, Senator Shehu Sani had in a repost advised against” the exclusion of ndi Igbo from Rivers, Delta and Benue State in Anyim’s reckoning of the people that constitute the Igbo nation”.

Sen. Emma therefore while trying to clarify on the earlier point by Sen. Anyim Pius said “To be sure, Senator Anyim expressed no intention to exclude them as our Kith and kin”.

He hinted that the bone of contention is 2023 presidency and the need to give the South East Igbos a sense of belonging . Our brothers are everywhere ” However, the rotation of the presidency of Nigeria is based on the six regional structure of the country and not on ethnic nationality. ”

” That being the case, all we are saying is that it is the turn of ndi Igbo of the South East region made up of Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo States to produce the next president of Nigeria.”

On whether or not South East Igbos need the support of others, Sen. Emma Nwaka said ” Of course, we shall count on the support of our brothers and sisters from the neighbouring states including that of every Nigerian of voting age that the ends of equity and justice may be served”
