Abia Govt Set To Revive Historical Monuments, Museums In The State | READ MORE

The Abia State government is taking steps to revive moribund historical monuments and museums in the state to ensure development, proper tourism and employment opportunities.

As part of steps to actualise this, the Senior Special Adviser to governor Alex Otti on Tourism and entertainment, Dr. Martins Okechukwu Justice (J Martins) paid a courtesy visit to the Director-General, National Commission for Museums and Monuments (NCMM), headquarters inĀ  Abuja, Prof. Abba Tijani, to discuss on the way forward.

Speaking while being received by the DG, represented by the Director of Museums, Mr Abdul Gimba and other management staff,Ā  Justice hinted on governor Alex Otti administration’s eagerness to restructure the famous Ojukwu bunker and others

He revealed that Governor Alex Otti is very passionate about the tourism and hospitality sector, and expressed confidence that these sectors if properly managed, would attract tourists, an boost the economy of the state.

“I can assure you that in the next two to three years, you will be surprised at the level of development you will see in the state” Justice assured.

He added;

And for us as a government, we have taken up this decision and see how we can go into partnership with the Commission to revive the dilapidated historical monuments and museums in our state.

“I’m most grateful to the Commission for the warmth reception and for expressing their happiness that the governor is thinking towards this direction”.
