The Abia State House of Assembly candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) in the 2023 general election, Comrade Ugochukwu Nwankwo, has resigned from the party.
Nwankwo’s resignation was contained in a letter addressed to the Ward Chairman, YPP Umuimenyi Nkpa in Bende Local Government Area of the state and made available to ALL FACTS NEWSPAPER (AFNEWS).
Nwankwo in his letter dated August 18, 2023 said his resignation followed due consultation with his supporters and well wishers. He however did not disclose any reason for his resignation.
The letter read;
My name is Comrade Ugochukwu Nwankwo, the House of Assembly Candidate of The Young Progressives Party for Bende South State Constituency in the 2023 General Election!
This is to formally inform the General public, my family friends and followers that I have formally and officially resigned my membership of the Young Progressives Party YPP!
This decision was taken after due consultation with all my supporters and well wishers!
Our sojourn in YPP was worthwhile but this is time to move on and look on the brighter side!
Let’s keep hope alive as we look up to God for guidance and direction!
