Senior Advocates of Nigeria, Awa Kalu and Umeh Kalu, a former Attorney General of Abia State and Commissioner of Justice, have alleged that their community, Ohafia in Abia State has long been short-changed and neglected.

The legal luminaries said equity demands that the Ohafia clan be given the opportunity to produce the next House of Representatives member for the Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency.

Both spoke at the Ohafia stakeholders meeting in Calabar, which drew participation from leading professionals, business people and politicians from the clan on Saturday.

Chief Umeh Kalu said, “Ohafia had since 1999 been continually shortchanged in the allocation of political offices in the constituency. It is time to unite and fight for the future of our people as a community.

The Vice President of Mben Political Assembly, Dr. Michael Mba also lamented the poor state of affairs in Abia State, particularly in the constituency.
