ABIA: Rain of Palliatives For Labour Party Chieftains In Obingwa, As George Chidozie Calls For Commitment | SEE PHOTOS

Chieftains of the Labour Party in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State, have described Governor Alex Otti’s performance for the past 10 months as excellent and they have committed to keep supporting the New Abia agenda.

The meeting which took place at Obingwa on Saturday 14^th April 2024, had prominent members like, Dr. Eric Egwuibe – the Mayor of Obingwa, Hon. Victoria Dibumma Onwubiko – MD of ABSAA, C.C. Okuonu – Governor Alex Otti Campaign D-DG and member Abia State Judicial Panel of Enquiry, Hon. Peter Azubuike- LP Candidate Obingwa East, Comrade Maxwell Nwadike – Dr. Alex Otti’s Campaign Coordinator in Obingwa West, Engr Egege – Acting Chairman of the Party, Former CPS to former Imo Governor – Hon Ebere Uzoukwa, PhD, former CPS to the immediate past Governor of Abia State- Mr. Godwin Adindu, the State Youth Leader of the Labour Party and host of other dignitaries

While speaking to ALL FACTS NEWSPAPER, the host of the meeting Hon. George Chidozie, Senior Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties, revealed that the meeting is a demonstration of their commitment to entrench the new Abia in Obingwa Local Government Area. He also posited that the meeting was also an opportunity to discuss how to receive defectors who have genuinely indicated interest to join the party and uphold the party values.

“The goal is to build a strong and enduring party in both Obingwa and the entire Abia State” he stated.

In his speech, Hon. George Chidozie who is one of the major stakeholders in Obingwa, expressed gratitude for Governor Alex Otti’s efforts in improving the infrastructure of Abia State. He mentioned that the governor prioritized infrastructure development before focusing on other areas, such as stomach infrastructure. Hon. Chidozie acknowledged the construction of roads and the implementation of various infrastructure projects, which have contributed to the betterment of Abia State. He also mentioned the distribution of palliatives as part of the governor’s initiatives.

Mirroring his speech, other stakeholders urged the people of Obingwa to support and encourage the visible giant strides of Governor Otti. The party Chieftains also emphasized the need to build a party that would stand strong and also advocate for the society.

As a way of supporting Gov. Alex Otti’s stomach infrastructure initiative, Hon. George Chidozie provided bags of rice, bags of salt, a cow and a generous cash gift of 500,000 for party executives in the LGA and Wards. In addition to that, he has taken steps to empower students by covering the expenses for JAMB and WAEC examinations for selected individuals in the LGA and also provided various youth skill acquisition programs.
