The political tension in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Abia State chapter seems to have gotten to the crescendo with the dissolution of Obinna Don Norman led state working committee (SWC) by the national chairman of the party Ralph Okey Nwosu.
In a letter sighted by ALL FACTS NEWSPAPER and signed by the National Chairman, ADC, Ralph Okey Nwosu, the chairman was notifying the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), of the dissolution of Abia state party excos. Based on the letter, the dissolution is owed to “recent anti-party activities and deliberate effort of Some Abia state executives to undermine the governorship candidate of the party in the forthcoming general election, coupled with various allegations of grievous misconduct”. SEE LETTER BELOW:
Investigation by ALL FACTS NEWSPAPER reveals that the action of the National Chairman of the party maybe connected to some letters written by the Abia State ADC Exco to both their gubernatorial candidate ‘Bishop Sunday Ndukwo Onuoha’ and the national chairman.
In one of the letter, the gubernatorial candidate was accused of negligence, causing upset and disintegration among party members with his approach to issues, lack of readiness to contest and win elections, planned attempt to remove Don Norman as the state chairman, among others.
In another letter written to the NWC, the ADC SWC was requesting for 30% remuneration for sales of 2023 electoral forms to the tune of nine million, six hundred and thirty-seven thousand, three hundred and fifty naira out of thirty-two million one hundred and twenty-four thousand five hundred naira, generated from the total sales of forms.
Based what we gathered, these letters and actions by the state chapter of ADC may have angered the national chairman into taking the drastic action of dissolving the Exco. SEE LETTERS BELOW.
When ALL FACTS NEWSPAPER reached out to the dissolved chairman, Don Norman Obinna posited that he is surprised at the action of the National Chairman and that he has nothing to say at the moment until he gets the true picture of what transpired.
Don Norman Obinna promised he will communicate with the press soon on the matter.
