The Labour Party governorship in Abia state, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR was earlier today honoured by ‘THE NEW NIGERIA MOVEMENT FOR OBI & OTTI’ during the presentation of THE UNIFIED AGENDA OF ALL LABOUR PARTY CANDIDATES IN ABIA STATE.
Dr. Alex Otti had during an interactive session with the group unveiled the unified LP manifesto for all candidates in the state and laid out his plans for the State.
Speaking to the people, Dr. Otti made a commitment that his government would be a responsible government, and assured that he will renegotiate the humongous debt being owed by Abia state government with the intention of paying it off, while adopting far reaching measures geared towards using the first 6 months of his administration to clear the salary and pensions arrears owed Abia workers and pensioners.”
According to the governorship hopeful “2023 promises to be a year where there would be no money from FG to share among states, so if you cannot create wealth in your state, there will be a big problem which could drag Abia down to the point of becoming a failed state.
“Aba as the economic nerve center of the state is dilapidated. Going through Aba, you will want to weep. Aba is known for markets; we shall redevelop the markets and make them modern”.
“Abia State Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) hovers around 15 billion naira annually, that’s a meagre amount of revenue compared to other states with more than double of the amount Abia generates”, he concluded.
The event was put together by the popular FIFA Lincence Agent and the president of Abians Living in the United Kingdom in, who is also the leader of the New Nigeria Movement, Sir Nwaobilor Ananaba in conjunction with other illustrious Abians.
