As the Abia State Independent Electoral Commission (ABSIEC) is getting ready to conduct Local government Election in Arochukwu and other 16 LGAs in Abia State, A popular Journalist And a Women Rights Activist, Mrs. Tabitha Francess Olisa Ogbonnanya has again appealed to the Leadership Of the peoples Democratic party (PDP) to consider women in their plans as they are set to conduct their party primaries, Mrs Tabitha Ogbonnanya stated this when she paid a solidarity visit to the Ward Chairman of PDP in Arochukwu ward 1, Mazi Nnanna Ugwu.
She assured the chairman that she will do everything within her powers to make sure that PDP clinch the Chairmanship position and the entire 20 councillorship positions in Arochukwu LGA, she said that it has become imperative for women to be given the opportunity to serve and contribute in the development of the nation as women have all that it takes to turn around the fortunes of the country if given the opportunity.
The award winning Broadcaster And politician maintained that she decided to visit the Chairman in her usual ways to find out how ready the party is and to also find out the level of their preparations for the December 19th LGA elections in the state and to know their challenges and know where to help to make sure that PDP win the election without hitches.
She used the visit to extolled the Leadership Of the party in the LGA under Hon. Sunday Odum Okemini as the LGA party chairman, the state Chairman of PDP Rt. Hon. Asiforo Okere, Stakeholders of the party in the LGA under the Leadership Of Rt. Hon. Uko Ndukwe Nkole and the Leader of the party in the state and the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu for their Leadership qualities.
Responding, the PDP ward Chairman, Mazi Nnanna Ugwu thanked Mrs Tabitha Ogbonnanya for always making out time to visit the party and promised to give her all the necessary Support to make sure that women are always included in the affairs of the party.
