The Body of Advisers to the Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, PhD, have paid a condolence visit to the family of late Chief Ukpai Agwu Ukpai, PhD.
Chief Ukpai up until his death which occurred on March 30, 2021, was the Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.
The delegation led by Mr Collins Nwakanma, Special Adviser to the Governor on water projects, expressed their shock over the demise of Chief Ukpai.
Mr Nwakanma regretted that a huge vacuum has been created because of the death of Late Ukpai, whom he described as a man that takes up the problems of anyone that approaches him.
He described death as an irreversible action and charged the family to take heart.
“It is death that came, if it were just sickness, we would have been visiting the hospital now and praying for his recovery.
” His death has created a very big vacuum that will be very difficult to cover, but with God on your side, nothing will be difficult for you people to accomplish.
Addressing late Ukpai’s wife, Mrs Uchenna Agwu Ukpai, he said;
“Jesus has become your husband. Nobody can play the role of Chief Ukpai for you. Now it is only God.
” You have to remain strong to shoulder the new responsibilities” Nwakanma admonished.
In an interview with AF-NEWS correspondent, Mr Nwakanma said the visit was routine as the board visits their members in times of loss and gain.
In his word;
” Chief Ukpai touched this life and that life. He lived an impactful life.
” Anyone that lives in this life with just the mentality of acquisition of wealth, hasn’t started. Whosoever that is living in this life, should think of the after life”.
Speaking also at the visit, Honorable Gaius Anyanwu, and Engineer Chief Owo Eleke, recalled their encounter with Late Ukpai.
They described him as a man that lived his life for others, taking up the problems of others.
Responding, Elder Nduka Agwu Ukpai, brother of the deceased, appreciated the delegation of the board of advisers to the governor, and promised to inform them on the burial arrangements.
