Ahead of the Sunday Primaries, a front line governorship aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Gen. Ijioma N. Ijioma Rtd, has called on party delegates to see through him and give him the mandate to fly the party ticket for the 2023 gubernatorial election in Abia State.

Ahead of the Sunday Primaries, a front line governorship aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Gen. Ijioma N. Ijioma Rtd, has called on party delegates to see through him and give him the mandate to fly the party ticket for the 2023 gubernatorial election in Abia State.

 

General Ijioma while addressing newsmen in a press conference in Umuahia on Thursday, maintained that among the other aspirants in APGA, he remains the only original one, the best who can defend their votes and change the story of the state.

 

“APGA is parading the best governorship aspirants, but I am the first eleven among all the aspirants. I am the only one who can defend the votes. Others are good, but I am the best” Ijioma stated.

 

He called on the delegates and Abians to do their bit at the primary and general election and allow him do his own part.

 

Ijioma cautioned that 2022/2023 is the time to decide if Abians will continue living in agony for the next 4/8 years or not.

 

“Abians shine your eyes, delegates, employ the best” Ijioma charged.

 

“This primary should be free, fair, credible, transparent and be conducted in a level playing ground, he charged APGA.

 

The governorship hopeful however expressed optimism that APGA’ primary would be better than other parties’.

 

He reaffirmed his commitment to; Rescue, Repair, Rebuild, Restore, and Rebirth Abia state if given the opportunity.

 

He maintained that he is in the guber race because of the conviction that Abia hasn’t lived up to expectation.

 

According to him, Abia have been governed by those who have continued to mock God by not paying salaries, providing good road network and other basic amenities of life.

 

“Abia is supposed to be unique as it is number one state but the first now is the last, in contradiction to the holy bible. Alphabetically, we are God’s own state, but in development, we are last”.

 

According to the aspirant, the leadership deficit in the state, pushed him out of retirement to embark on the project of rescuing Abia.

 

“our people have been rubbished and dehumanized to the extent that our people outside refuse to identify themselves as Abians” Ijioma said.

 

He added that the state is filled with natural resources and as such Abians shouldn’t be regarded as poor.
