I’ve Been Working Tirelessly To Ensure Total Reconstruction Of Ikwuano/Ikot Ekpene Road – Sam Onuigbo | WATCH VIDEO

The member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal constituency and the APC candidate for Abia Central Senatorial District, Honourable Sam Onuigbo, has restated his commitment to ensure the completion of ongoing projects he attracted especially, the Umuahia/ Ikwuano/Ikot Ekpene road.

 

Onuigbo while speaking at the day-1 of Ikwuano Socio-Economic Summit 2023, stated that without functional road networks, electricity and water, a society will find it difficult to develop. He regretted that though electricity and water problems have been fixed to a large extent in various communities in Ikwuano local government area of Abia state, lack of good road networks has continued to be a major challenge facing the people.

“We have been able to complete electricity and water projects in some communities in Ikwuano over the years. The issue of road has however been one of our biggest problems in Ikwuano.”

Onuigbo however assured his people that it is his priority to ensure that the Ikwuano Ikot Ekpene road which has vital economic value, is totally reconstructed and not abandoned.

“I have been working tirelessly to ensure the total reconstruction of the Umuahia-Ikwuano- Ikot Ekpene federal road. I am optimistic that the ongoing reconstruction will be completed as soon as possible especially now that the hindrance of funding has been addressed” he said.

 

The honourable member also revealed that he has submitted a proposal for the creation of another link road to Akwa Ibom and Cross River through Ikwuano which is the Okwe- Obuohia -Nkari federal road.

“The design for the construction of this has been completed by the Niger Delta ministry. It is my hope that they will award it soon as this road has the potential to reduce the burden on the Umuahia-Ikwuano-Ikot Ekpene federal road while also providing us with a shorter alternative to Akwa Ibom and Calabar” Onuigbo added.
