… Assures APGA members that Otti will not retreat

In this exclusive interview with All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Chieftain in Abia State, Chief Inem Nwaka, he revealed that APGA 2019 gubernatorial candidate is prepared and ready to go all the way to supreme court in his move to liberate Abia State.

With the judgment of the National Assembly elections petition tribunal sitting in Umuahia, ordering a rerun in some units of Abia north, and the Governorship tribunal dismissing Dr Alex Otti and Apga petition, what is your reaction

Answer:

First on the National Assembly tribunal judgement.

I’m not surprised at the judgment, given the monumental sharp practices perpetuated by PDP and APC in the last general elections. Nevertheless, I am sure that the case will still go to appeal court. And if after that, the position remains that a rerun must be done, it will be a welcome development in so many respects. Given the designated units and constituency which are obvious APGA strong holds, it will be an opportunity to prove that APGA were grossly shortchanged and manipulated out of the last election. Therefore, I am calling on all APGA supporters to remain calm and be prepared to use the rerun if it comes up to prove that APGA not only won in Abia north, but the entire state during the last election, but for the massive rigging and unwholesome practices carried out by PDP and APC in collaboration with INEC and security agencies.

On the Governorship tribunal judgement, we take it as a three-legged match, with the first leg played at the home turf of our opponents who unsportsmanly use all unorthodox coercive techniques to unfairly win a match forgetting that such tactics might not be available at the second and third leg of the game. We are stronger and more than ready to test the law up to Supreme court. Dr. Alex Otti and supporters are very high in spirit because we are fighting a just cause for the liberation and progress of Abia politically and economically.

Question:

The Governor and PDP have called on Otti and APGA to sheath their sword and join forces with them to develop Abia.

Answer:

The call is laughable and insincere in all ramifications. The excuse of distraction for non-performance is infantile as it cannot explain the relatively poor results of governance the people of Abia are enduring. All I know we cannot go on like this for long. The struggle is a legitimate way of recovering our state from years of plundering and mismanagement of our resources, not to talk of the negative and primitive narratives that is not in our character, and been written by PDP on Abia state and our people.
