Isuikwuato/Umunneochi: INEC Staff Tenders Exhibits In Support Of Hon. Amobi Ogah’s Victory

As the legal battle for the Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal House of Representative seat continues, a staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from the headquarters in Abuja today 26th July 2023 tendered a Certified True Copy (CTC) Results from Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency as downloaded from IREV, in support of the Respondents (Honorable Amobi Godwin Ogah and INEC) against the Petitioner Rt. Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha.

The INEC staff who was subpoena, was crossed examined by the Lawyer of the first Respondent Kenneth Ahia SAN. He explained that he is a staff in the IREV Unit under the Software and Training Department and that all the document tendered as exhibit were generated and downloaded from the IREV.

While examining the subpoenaed INEC Staff at National and State Assembly tribunal in Umuahia, lawyer to the Petitioner questioned that veracity of IREV Unit, but posited that IREV is just a software for election results and not a unit in INEC.

The documents tendered were all accepted as exhibits.

Amobi Ogah was officially declared winner of the Feb. 25 National Assembly poll by the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) after he got 11, 822 votes to defeat Onyejeocha who garnered 8752 from the total votes cast.
