Ikwuano Can’t Remain Like This, Evaluate Candidates Before Voting – Honorable Chukwuemeka Osoagbaka
Few weeks to the 2023 general elections, the people of Ikwuano, in Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State, have been charged to put sentiments aside and carryout proper evaluation of candidates of various political parties and vote those who has the capability of attracting the needed development in the area.
Honourable Chukwuemeka Osoagbaka, the Chairman, Ahamefula Development Initiative Ikwuano (ADII) while speaking on Thursday, January 5, 2023, the final day of the Ikwuano socio- economic summit, lamented that Ikwuano has remained undeveloped for years and lacks the criteria of a standard local government.
He noted that the government has the required funds to attract development to Ikwuano which is the food basket of Abia state, but regretted that communities in Ikwuano have been left to suffer bad road networks, erosion among other instabilities.
Osoagbaka called on the people to queue behind the vision of ADII and vote credible candidates who can rescue the people and bring development.
The chairman explained that the ADII is not a political party, rather a development initiative whose vision is to ensure that Ikwuano is developed and also the people are educated on the right candidates to vote for their good interest.
He regretted that the level of development in Ikwuano has made life more miserable for the people who have to travel to Umuahia, the state capital or neighboring Akwa Ibom state for medical attention.
“it is our duty to educate you and guide you in making an informed decision. You cant be here and Ikwuano will remain as it has been for years” Osoagbaka charged.
He assured that a scholarship fund will soon be set up for Ikwuano people who do not have enough resources for education.
