As the year 2018 ends, 33 years old water problem of Ihite-Ude Ofeme people also came to an end. The good people of Ihite-Ude Ofeme community in Abia State which has witnessed a long-time water problem, saw the problem rolled away by the communities’ union called Ihite – Ude Ofeme Walfare Union (Federated).
Based on the research of AFN, the water challenge of the community started on the 7th of July 1986, But solution came on 30th December 2018, the day the water project executed was formally commissioned.
In the light of the event, the leader of the union, Engr Kenneth N. N. made it clear to AFN reporter that the record-breaking achievements were timely. From the pipe born water project, to the mechanized palm oil mill project, the rebranded vigilante service force for the security of lives and properties within the community, the civic hall and the ICT center which will soon come to reality.
He made it clear that all these achievements in Ihite Ude Ofeme community was made possible by the worthy sons and daughters of the community and not politically motivated.
He added that, 30th of December 2018 marks a new beginning in the history and aspiration of his people, as they hosted for the first time their very distinguished dignitaries to this first ever occasion of the “HALL OF FAME AWARDS AND COMMUNITY – BASED PROJECT COMMISSIONING under the chairmanship of Hon. Martin Ikechukwu Apugo, APC candidate representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency for Federal House of Representative.
At the event, A-7 Star award, A-5 Star award, and A-3 Star award were given to distinguished sons and daughters who have proved to love their community.
The Ihite women where not left out, they displayed a beautiful and colourful dance performance with their great attractive costume, while 10 gunshot salutes the air.
Meanwhile the Ihite-Ude Ofeme Vigilante Service was commissioned by the police high command representative, Abia State, led by the D.P.O. Ohuhu Division.
The good people of Ihite-Ude Ofeme community reacted to the projects, by saying “he that giveth water, giveth life”, they apricated the Ihite – Ude Ofeme Walfare Union (Federated) for bringing them life.
H.R.H Eze E. C. Udoka (KSM) JP Eme II of Ofeme Anthonomus Community expressed his appreciation to the humanitarian project given the community by Ihite – Ude Ofeme Welfare Union (Federated) led by Engr Kenneth N. N and prayed that the Almighty God will bless them.
