The Abia State Police Command, says it has in custody, three suspected k-illers of the two policemen who were attac-ked and murd-ered on Tuesday.
ALL FACTS NEWSPAPER (AFNEWS) had reported that the policemen who were attached with the state Commissioner for Trade, Commerce, and Industry, Dr. Chimezie Ukaegbu on an official duty were gunned down at Samec Junction, near Ariaria International Market Aba.
While visiting residents and traders in that area on Thursday, the Executive governor of Abia state, Dr Alex Otti gave a marching order to security agencies to fish out the hoodlums.
Issuing a statement on Friday on the arrest of three suspects, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Maureen Chinaka, said the command acting on credible intelligence “stormed a hotel located in Ohanze Obingwa Local Government Area of the State on Thursday at about 11:30 am and arrested three male suspects.”
Two revolver pistols, six rounds of 7.62x39MM AK-47 rifles Ammunition and five rounds of 9MM Ammunition were found in their possession.
Further investigation is being carried out according to the police.
