A 24-year-old tricycle operator (keke rider) identified as Chigozie Nwokoro, has been arrested for allegedly killing his 20-year-old girlfriend simply identified as Beauty in Abia State.

Nwokoro who hails from Ajata Ibeku in Umuahia North Local Government Area of the state was caught by locals on Wednesday, when he was about disposing the corpse.

The suspect was almost lynched by angry mob but for the quick intervention of a police patrol team.
Speaking while being interogated, Nwokoro said Beauty was his girlfriend of two years from Oboro in Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State.

According to the suspect, Beauty had refused se-xual advances which he made at about 7pm on the day of the incident. He got angry and started beating his girlfriend. He said in the process of struggling, Beauty hit her head on the wall, which led to her death.

He was confiemed dead on arrival by a doctor on duty at the Federal Medical Centre Umuahia.
Speaking to newsmen, an annonymous source said;

“We decided to follow him without his notice until he entered inside the bush to dump the body then we caught him red-handed.”

Another source said;

“She was his girlfriend and they were fighting suddenly she tripped and hit her face on the floor.” The guy didn’t remove any body part.”
