Abia Labour Party Chairman, Ceekay Igara Suspends Obingwa Stakeholders | READ WHY
As part of measures to address the leadership challenge in the Obingwa Local Government Area chapter of the Labour Party, the Abia State Labour Party Chairman, Mr Ceekay Igara has announced an indefinite suspension of Obingwa stakeholders.
The state Chairman made the declaration at the party’s state secretariat in Umuahia during a meeting with the ward chairmen, and some ‘stakeholders’ led by Obingwa LGA Chairman, Evangelist Princewill Nwauzor on Friday.

Igara noted that since the Obingwa party faithfuls have failed to unanimously agree on who their stakeholders will be, all supposed stakeholders are dissolved, adding that the State Working Committee (SWC) of the party will meet to decide on the next line of action.

“We are going to postpone everything about stakeholders for now indefinitely. We will give you those that will be working; if you want stakeholders we will nominate them to you and tell you these are the people to work.

“We will come back to the state Executive and we will take a decision” the chairman said.
He however, thanked them for supporting the party in their own capacity, assuring that all disagreement would be resolved amicably.
Speaking earlier on a supposed ‘Stakeholder’s forum constitution’ being promoted by some ‘self-acclaimed members of the Obingwa Labour Party, Evangelist Princewill Nwauzor maintained that Obingwa chapter of the Labour Party remains bounded by the provisions of the Labour Party constitution and not an alien constitution.
The Obingwa LGA Chairman presented the controversial constitution alleged to have an affiliation with the Social Democratic Party (SDP) to the state chairman, Ceekay Igara for verification.
“No stakeholder here present has a hand in that purported ‘stakeholder’s forum constitution” he assured.
