How FRSC Patrol Van Killed, Injured People In Bauchi | READ DETAILS

A patrol van belonging to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), on Friday, November 5, killed two persons injuring others in Bauchi State.

The incident happened in Alkaleri Local Government Area of the state, when the van with registration number, A01732RS suddenly lost control, ramming into a shop opposite the Alkaleri Central Motor Park, on the Bauchi-Gombe highway at about 12:45pm.

Confirming the accident to newsmen, the Bauchi State Sector Commander, FRSC, Yusuf Abdullahi, said the driver, A.D. Mohammed who was in company of three other personnel, suddenly developed a health challenge, which made him to shout and slump while on the steering wheel.

The driver who lost control of the vehicle rammed into the shop killing two and injuring 5 others

Abdullahi added that the accident affected 14 persons in total- five male adults, five female adults, two male children and two female children, including a tricycle and two motorcycles.

“Yes, the accident is true. Our personnel were just coming back to the base after the normal routine patrol and suddenly, the driver shouted and switched off on the steering. And that was all, he went off the road completely.

“The patrol vehicle ran into some people who were by a shop in the area and it finally stopped when it hit the shop. Some people in the shop also sustained injuries.”

“Two people, one female adult and a male child were killed in the crash, while five others sustained varying degrees of injuries,” Abdullahi said.

The commander rvealed that bystanders rushed the victims to the Alkaleri General Hospital including the driver who was unconscious.

AAbdullahi also commiserated with the families of the affected persons and prayed for a quick recovery for those injured.
