The Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Paul Emeziem, have been impeached and replaced.
Emeziem who represents Onuimo state constituency, was impeached today, Monday, November 8, 2021, and replaced with Hon. Kennedy Ibeh representing Obowo State constituency.
ALL FACTS NEWSPAPER had reported that the deputy speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Amara Iwuanayanwu was impeached on Tuesday, November 2 after a resolution was signed by 18, out of the 27 lawmakers in the Assembly without a public known reason.
Emeziem’s impeachment held today during plenary, with 19 out of the 27 House members signing the resolution.
The embattled deputy speaker, Iwuanyawu reportedly invaded the House with 6 other lawmakers with security personnel to enforce the impeachment.
Moving a motion for the impeachment, the member representing Ọrụ East state constituency, Hon. Chigozie Nwaneri, accused Emeziem of gross misconduct and abuse of office.
Taking to Facebook, Hon. Iwuanyanwu wrote;
