President Bola Tinubu has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family of Major-General Chris Alli (rtd), the former Chief of Army Staff, who passed away on Sunday.

In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu described the demise of Major-General Alli as a “painful loss” to the nation.

“Major-General Alli was a distinguished and patriotic Nigerian who served his country with honour and dedication,” the President stated. “He was a man of integrity and a respected leader within the Nigerian Army.”

President Tinubu highlighted Major-General Alli’s illustrious career, noting his service as Chief of Army Staff from 1993 to 1994, as well as his tenure as Director of Military Intelligence (DMI).

“Major-General Alli’s contributions to the Nigerian Army and the nation as a whole will be deeply missed,” the President remarked. “His passing is a significant loss for our country.”

President Tinubu extended his prayers to the bereaved family, urging them to find solace in the knowledge that their loved one left an indelible mark on the sands of time.

“May Almighty God rest the soul of Major-General Chris Alli in eternal peace,” the President concluded. “May He also grant his family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”
