The member representing Umunneochi State constituency, Honorable Okey Igwe, Esq. has been commended for his love for the widows, by men and women of Umunneochi local government area.
Speaking during the ceremony at his country home Umuogele Amuda Isuochi, Honorable Igwe, represented by Dr. Ken Madubuike reiterated his commitment towards supporting the indigent and widows in the society and thanked the widows for their prayers which he admitted has been the force behind his progression politically and otherwise.
Elizabeth Madu from Obiloru Ngodo, Zone 1, Ifenji Stephen, from Mbala, Zone 2, Nwankwo Edith, from Ubahu, Zone 3, Cecilia Stephen, Lekwesi, Zone 4 spoke on behalf of other widows, thanked Honorable Okey Igwe for his love to the widows and pray that God will bless him abundantly.
Some of the party Chieftains, Chief George Iroh, SA to Abia State Governor, Comr. V. C. Ngwu, a PDP Chieftain, Chief Amaobi Ocho, Mrs Obiageri Okeke, PDP woman Leader, Lokpaukwu Ward, Chief Luke Okoafor and Deac. Obinna Ezeobi, former Deputy Chairman, Umunneochi LGA in their separate speeches eulogized Hon. Igwe for his achievements so far and pray that God will see him through in his endeavors.
Highlight of the event was disbursement of cash to forty-eight (48) widows to assist them in there petty trading and special prayers by Widows to Honorable Igwe as well as testimonies of the impact of the support to their various families.
Coordinator, Okey Igwe’s Cash Empowerment Program to Umunneochi Indigent Widows, Dr. A.I. Uwaezuoke urge the widows to try to utilize the stipend given to them by the Honorable member and inform them that this batch will still collect more two months of the stipend.
