Governor Alex Otti has lauded the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) for its commitment to Nigeria’s political stability through intellectual discourse and research. The commendation came during the launch of “100 Years of Political Parties Evolution in Nigeria”, held in Abuja.
Representing Governor Otti at the event was Hon. Iheanyi Frank Chinasa, Abia State Liaison Officer at the National Assembly. The book, which traces Nigeria’s political journey from 1923 to 2023, offers critical insights for political actors, historians, and policymakers on the evolution of the country’s democracy.
In his speech, Hon. Chinasa praised IPAC’s efforts, stating, “This publication is not just a reflection of our political history but a guide for future leaders. Governor Otti remains committed to democratic values, good governance, and the rapid transformation of Abia State as part of the broader Nigerian project.”
The high-profile event, chaired by former Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, attracted notable dignitaries, including former Senate President and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. Anyim Pius Anyim, who delivered the keynote address. Discussions focused on Nigeria’s political landscape and strategies for sustaining democracy amid contemporary challenges.
The book’s unveiling underscored the importance of political education in fostering national unity, with participants emphasizing the need for leaders to learn from history to build a more stable future.
