ABIA STATE: THE GAMBIA CONGRATULATES IKPEAZU ON HIS VICTORY

Government of The Gambia has sent a congratulatory message to the Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, on his reelection at the recently conducted governorship election in Abia State.

In a letter signed by that country’s Minister of Interior,  Hon. Mballow, Dr Ikpeazu’s victory was described as both “a personal triumph and great achievement towards the development of your State and your interest in working with us in The Gambia”.

The Gambian Minister  further extolled the virtues of the Abia State Governor saying “This is a time of tremendous opportunity for the region. Your unrivalled experience of government will be a unique asset for Abia State and the Gambia will enable you to continue to give strong leadership, which the State needs”.

In the letter, the Gambian government further states that it looks forward to working with Dr Ikpeazu “in meeting with the challenges of making our continent the pride of the world…”

Recall that the Abia State Governor had visited The Gambia in November last year where he delivered a paper as the Guest Award Lecturer at the 15th Africa Security Watch Awards, which held in Banjul, The Gambia, on the topic: Tackling National Security Challenges Through Economic Empowerment, the Made-in-Aba Example.

He also used that opportunity to meet with The Gambian government officials including the president, Mr Adama Barrow, selling  the great potentials of Abia State to the neighbouring West African country which immediately became enthralled by Governor Ikpeazu’s vision and works in Abia State.
