ABIA: NUT Issues Ultimatum To Ikpeazu Over Unpaid Entitlements, Others | DETAILS
The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Abia State wing have issued a 2 weeks ultimatum to governor Okezie Ikpeazu to pay them their entitlements, and meet other conditions of service.
According to a letter dated May 5, 2022, addressed to the governor and signed by the NUT State Secretary, Comrade Mrs. Nnenna Okonkwo, primary and secondary public schools teachers ‘met severally on the denial of entitlements, breached conditions of service and resolved to resume strike after the 14 days ultimatum elapse”.
They lamented the unbearable conditions of primary and post primary school teachers in the state, recalling the industrial action the NUT Abia state embarked on in 2018, 2019 and 2020 respectively.
The teachers noted that the strike were all suspended after agreements were reached by the state government to meet their demands. However, they regret that the government has failed to fulfill the agreement, rather ‘more problems were created to the already existing ones”.
The teachers pleaded with Governor Ikpeazu to do the needful and ensure that the situation does not degenerate to industrial disharmony.

Truly, I say unto you, whoever says to this mountain, "Be taken up and thrown into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believers that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it and it will be yours
