Abia Govt Debunks Alleged Recruitment Into The State Civil Service | READ MORE
The Abia state government has described as fake, advertisement being circulated on social media, claiming that there is an ongoing recruitment into the Abia state civil service.
Refuting the claims, the state government through Mr Ferdinand Ekeoma, the Special Adviser to governor Alex Otti on Media and Publicity said the state civil service cannot be conducting recruitment exercise when the government is still working to reshape the commission via the ongoing verification exercise of workers.
He assured that when the state government commences recruitment, it would be made public via relevant media channels.
“The advert did not emanate from Abia State government; therefore it’s FAKE and should be disregarded.
There could not have been any recruitment when there’s an ongoing verification exercise and reforms geared towards sanitising the Civil Service with a view to getting it rejigged in order to help drive the developmental policies and programmes of the present government.
Any recruitment exercise into the Civil Service shall be approved by the Governor and announced on the state-owned radio station, the BCA, other radio stations and on the pages of major newspapers through the Civil Service Commission.
Anyone with useful information that could lead to the arrest and prosecution of the fraudsters behind the advert should contact the office of the Chief of Staff to the Governor or report to the nearest Police Station” the statement read in part.
