The candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in the just-held national assembly election for Isiala Ngwa North /South federal constituency, Bishop Dr Emeka Nwankpa has called for a total cancelation of results of the elections.
Bishop Nwankpa who in a press conference addressed Journalists, cited several reasons ranging from late arrival of election materials, disenfranchisement of voters in wards across the constituency. He said that there should be total cancelation of the election in the constituency.
“A situation where there was no voting in this constituency but results were summarily announced and taken seriously is very disheartening.
“In both local governments, materials arrived as late as 4pm,voting started by 4:30pm and stopped by 5pm. This led to the total disenfranchisement of an huge population of voters. ”
Bishop Nwankpa confirmed that he has written to INEC and has informed them of the irregularities and the need for them to suspend the results gotten from such election.
