ABIA GUBER: How T.A. Orji, Abia Speaker Stormed Umuahia North LG HQ For Okey Ahiwe
The PDP Governorship candidate in Abia State, Chief Okey Ahiwe was on Tuesday in Umuahia North LGA Headquarters for his campaign rally as part of activities leading to the March 11 gubernatorial election.
While speaking at the event, Senator T.A. Orji, former Governor of the state and Senator representing Abia Central Senatorial District, described Chief Okey Ahiwe as the best candidate for Abia and urged everyone to come together and support him. He urged the PDP candidate not to fritter away the people’s support for him but to ensure he works for their interest as governor.
On his part, the Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly and the PDP standard-bearer for Ikwuano-Umuahia Federal Constituency, Right Honourable Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji urged Ahiwe to repay the people’s support for him by executing meaningful projects in Umuahia. He also urged him to carry along other aspirants and close ranks with political blocs to ensure victory for the PDP.
The Abia State PDP Chairman, Right Honourable Allwell Asiforo Okere commended the leaders and people of Umuahia North for their support to Chief Okey Ahiwe which they demonstrated with their massive turnout for the rally and for always supporting the Party. He assured that Chief Ahiwe will not disappoint.
In his speech, the PDP governorship candidate who was visibly elated at the massive turn out of leaders and people of Umuahia North to the rally promised to develop Umuahia beyond its current status, and that his development plans for the entire state will make Abia the envy of others. He therefore urged the people to close ranks and work for the success of the party at all levels.
Highlight of the event include the presentation of the party’s candidates for Umuahia Central, Umuahia North and Umuahia East State constituencies to the people.
Other dignitaries who were at the event include; Chief Mrs Mercy Odochi Orji, a former governorship aspirant of the party, Chief Lucky Igbokwe (Don Lulu), former Nigerian Ambassador to Argentina, Chief Empire Kanu, among others.
