Members of Abia State House of Assembly today deliberated on a matter of urgent importance brought before it by the Member representing Arochukwu State Constituency, Hon. Mike Ukoha over the killing of one of his constituents from Isu community by their neighboring Utuma/Ukwa clan of Cross River State.
In a motion of urgent public importance, the lawmaker called on the House as well as relevant security agencies to move into the community to forestall further loss of lives and properties and called for a lasting solution to it.
Reacting to the matter, some members including the member representing Isialangwa South Rt. Hon. Chikwendu Kalu and that of Bende North Hon. Chijioke Chukwu regretted the Isu crisis which has resulted into loss of life, saying that government must act fast to stop further attack on the people by their neighboring communities from other State.
Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji decried the loss of an Abian, maintaning that the issue must be brought to an end to stop further loss of lives in the area.
The House unanimously call on relevant security agencies to as a matter of urgency assist in bringing adequate security in the affected area.
It will be recalled that Isu community in Arochukwu L.G.A has been in dispute with their neighboring Utuma/Ukwa clan in Cross River State over boundary issue and such has resulted into loss of lives ever since.
