Abia State made history on December 17, 2024, with the groundbreaking ceremony for the much-anticipated Abia Airport project in Nsulu, Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area. This ambitious initiative, spearheaded by Governor Alex Otti, in collaboration with the federal government, promises to be a transformative asset for the state and the South East region.
The Abia Airport is envisioned as a hub for commerce and economic growth, addressing the state’s long-standing need for improved trade and infrastructure. Chief Iheanyi Frank Chinasa, the National Assembly Liaison Officer, commended the synergy between the federal government and the New Abia administration for their commitment to developing the state.
