“We’ll Create Better Economic Atmosphere In Abia” – Nwaka Inem Says As He Is Sworn In As Otti’s SA On Trade/Investment
Chief Nwaka Ogbonna Inem, the Special Adviser on Trade/Investment/Industry to the executive governor of Abia state, Dr Alex Otti, has assured that Abians will experience a better economic atmosphere under the present administration.
Inem while speaking to ALL FACTS NEWSPAPER (AFNEWS) immediately after he was sworn in as the governor’s aide at the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Local Government Affairs complex in Umuahia, regretted that industries which were constructed decades ago, have been left moribund. He however assured that the moribund industries would be revived and new ones set up in sync with modern technology and trade.
Inem hinted that efforts are being made to bring in foreign investors into Abia state, to give the state a new economic facelift.
“I feel a little bit fulfilled that we are taking up an assignment that we have been preaching that the past government have not been getting it right, the economic situation and the general atmosphere has not been right. We are bringing in better economic atmosphere in Abia state”.
“We will revive moribund industries and build new industries that will be in sync with modern technology and trade.
“Past leaders kept us behind; we are bringing the people to be on board of what is happening outside the world” Inem said.
Earlier on, Nwaka Inem was made to take an oath of office and allegiance administered by Lady Uzoamaka Uche Ikonne, the state solicitor general.
Also sworn in was Mr Mike Akpara as the Commissioner for Finance, Abia state. Both pledged to discharge their duties with all diligence.
Addressing the newly inaugurated, governor Alex Otti admonished them to give their best and queue behind the vision of his administration to deliver beyond expectation.
Other dignitaries at the swearing in include, the Abia state Labour Party Chairman, Mr Ceekay Igara; the Attorney General of the state, Mr Ikechukwu Uwanna, the member representing Abia Central senatorial district, Senator Darlington Nwokocha, Chief of Staff to the governor, Mr Caleb Ajagba, among others.
