UN@75: Gregory University Uturu Joins Development Partners To Launch CTADA

Sequel to the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the United Nations on the 21st of September, Gregory University Uturu in conjunction with Bar JUNI and Irene Menakaya Foundation International and Centre for SDG Global Education USA, is set to launch the Centre for Transformative Advancement of Development in Africa (CTADA).

According to a press statement by the Director of GUU-CTADA, Prof Magnus Onuoha, the event, which is in response to the call by the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, for all sectors of society to commit to mobilizing for a decade of action, will take the format of a Zoom virtual conference on Thursday 24 September by 4pm GMT, with the theme The Future We Want, Reaffirming Our Collective Commitment To The Advancement Of Development For Africa.

The statement further adds The aim of the programme is to mobilize the community around the UN75 focus of getting collective action around the world, as a way of strengthening consensus for the need to domesticate the development agenda of the body. The event will highlight favorably the UN75, and the vision of the Future of Africa, Launching of Centre for Transformative Advancement of Development in Africa, (CTADA), while making a resounding Pledge to the Advancement of Development for Africa.

Keynote presenters include former Nigeria President Olusegun Obasanjo, President of ECOWAS Commission Jean Claude Kasai Brou, Nigeria Minister of State for Education, Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, Chancellor of Gregory University Uturu, Prof Gregory Ibe and a host of other notable development experts.
