UAAP Lauds Ibe Okwara’s Victory, Commends Gov. Otti On His Choice Of Perm Secs, LG Chairmen

 

The leadership of United Abia Artistes and Patriots (UAAP), under the board chairmanship of High Chief Raymond Nkemdirim, have congratulated Honorable Ibe Okwara Osonwa, the member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency on his victory at the Court of Appeal, describing it as a “victory for democracy and justice.”

Recall that the Court of Appeal in Lagos state, overturned the decision of the National Assembly Election Tribunal in Umuahia that had declared Chief Daniel Okeke of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner.

Congratulating Hon. Okwara, the UAAP in press release signed by it’s Convener, Ambassador Dr. Osita Offor, “Ultimate Commander”, lauded the judiciary for demonstrating courage and determination to protect democracy even in the face of undue pressure.

Ibe Okwara won his election fair and square. It was undemocratic to try to snatch it from him” the group said.

On the other hand, UAAP has commended the Governor Alex Otti of Abia State on his giant strides on the rapid development of the state within a short period of the new administration.

UAAP appreciated Otti for “his careful consideration of the 24 Permanent Secretaries and the 17 Local Government Mayors/Chairmen.

“Governor Alex Otti, OFR has continued to show capacity and strong leadership dexterity in his application of developmental strides.

“UAAP will continue to give the governor full support to deliver good governance to Ndi Abia” the group assured.
