“Governor Alex Otti breaks his silence on Benjamin Kalu’s bold claims about the future of the Labour Party in Abia State, emphasizing why he won’t engage in political predictions. Find out why Otti believes only God decides the fate of leadership.”
Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has broken his silence over a recent remark made by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, who asserted that Otti would be the last Labour Party governor in Abia State. Addressing the statement, Governor highlighted that it is presumptuous to predict the future, stressing that power belongs to God alone and not to man.
Governor, while speaking at a public forum, stated: “It is foolhardy for me to be talking about what will happen tomorrow. I chose not to respond to Ben Kalu’s comment because I believe that power belongs to God, and He gives it to whom He wills. I am not competent to sit here and say what will happen in 2027. I do not subscribe to playing God.”
Governor Otti’s measured response comes after Benjamin Kalu had confidently posited that the Governor would be the last Labour Party governor in Abia State. The governor’s decision to remain calm on the matter emphasizes his belief in divine providence and his refusal to engage in speculative political debates.
