How I Managed Insecurity Challenge In Abia – Gov. Ikpeazu | READ DETAILS

As the Executive governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, gets ready to transit power, he has revealed how he has managed insecurity challenges to its barest minimum for over 7 years unlike other sister states.

Ikpeazu who spoke on FLO FM on Monday, said in a bid to tackle insecurity in some parts of the state, his government analysed the profile of crimes recorded per frequency, and thereafter adopted strategies to fight them down.

According to the governor, the major part of strategy his government adopted was properly equipping security agencies in the state, ensuring a proper synergy among the agencies and their heads and strengthening intelligence.

He noted that God deserves all the credit for the ambiance in the state adding that the peaceful nature of the state has encouraged non indigenes to seek refuge in the state.

“you need to equip the law enforcement officers. You  must be able to deepen intelligence. You must be able to show leadership to the point that there is complete synergy between among the Service Chiefs, everybody is on the same page.

“We have not been able to secure Abia the way we want, but secutity is an ongoing business; there is no place that is entirely secured, so we will continue to work and improve but we are in a place where we have good reasons to give God the glory” Ikpeazu said.

He lauded locals of Isuikwuato and Umunneochi who helped the government to curb insecurity in the area, while calling on locals of Ohafia Local government area to provide the government and security agencies with information about criminals ravaging the area.
