How Driver Was Arrested Months After Assaulting FRSC Official In Lagos
Ten months after allegedly assaulting an official of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), a taxi driver, one Mr. Agboola Alabi, have been arrested by the police Rapid Response Squad (RRS) in Lagos State.
According to a statement by Public Education Officer, Olabisi Sonusi, the incident happened on September 28, 2021.
The suspect had allegedly caused the official, identified as Marshal FW Igwe sustain injuries on Wempco Road, near Sunday Market in Ogba area of the state.
He was declared wanted after he ran away from the scene.
Alabi was however arrested on July 25, 2022 on Ketu-Ikorodu road near Owode-Onirin.
Lagos FRSC Commander, Olusegun Ogungbemide was quoted saying the offender was handed over to the police Area G office in Ogba.
His vehicle, a Volvo wagon with registration number DE 179 MUS, has been impounded for legal action.
“The arrest is an indication that more than ever before, security agencies in the State are determined to collaborate to ensure that no criminal-minded person escapes the law”, Ogungbemide said.
