The Kwara State Police Command, has confirmed the abduction of a farmer and businessman, Alhaji Alaga Olayemi by seven unidentified gunmen.
Olayemi was reportedly kidnapped from his farm at about 7p.m on Thursday, April 22, at Oke-Onigbin in Isin Local Government Area of the State.
The Command spokesperson, SP Okasanmi Ajayi, said, Police operatives have launched a manhunt in a bid to arrest the abductors and rescue the victim.
” One Alhaji Alaga Olayemi was reportedly kidnapped in his farm by seven unknown gunmen.
“Intensive efforts to rescue him has been activated by the Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Lawal Bagega,” the spokesman stated in a text message on the development to DAILY POST on Friday.
According to report, the victim and two others were ambushed and attacked by the yet-to-be identified gunmen on their way home from a maize farm.
After the confrontation with the armed men, two boys working for Olayemi escaped being abducted but sustained machete cuts inflicted by their attackers.
Olayemi was however, abducted and whisked away by the gunmen to an unknown destination.
