The government of Ebonyi State led by his Excellency Engr Dave Umahi, begins its journey to empower 200 young business owners/professionals who are indigenes of the state through its Stimulus Development Project.
This Business Development Training organised in three batches (Ebonyi South, Onueke and Abakaliki), is designed to reach out to indigenes in all nook and crannies of the state.
The program also accommodates professionals, experts and retirees at all levels in the state by selecting the best people through an already laid down criteria, to be given Grant to push their business farther.
Speaking with the Permanent Secretary (designate), Ministry of Human Capacity Development & Monitoring Barr. Enyinnaya Oko Egwu, he said that the Governor has designed the program in such a way that those that would receive the grant would be monitored and followed up by designated consultants making sure they use the grant appropriately. And those who misuse the grant given can be jailed. So, he urges those that would benefit, to use the money for its right course.
Chief Chima Onyekwere, the project consultant under Park Hill, the firm handling the project said that the trainees are expected to produce viable business proposals/initiatives, that would help them become self-sufficient. And those given the grant are expected to show results at least 8 months after.
The Participants who spoke to AFN expressed their unreserved gratitude to their Governor and said they are hopeful to be beneficiaries of the grant.
The training started on July 29th and would run till 7th August. Grants would be given at the end of the training.
